๐ŸŒŠWAVE WARNING ๐ŸŒŠ

Today a large low pressure system to the west of New Zealand casts a front onto the country as a ridge of high pressure moves away to the east.

The low moves across the North Island tomorrow and a southwesterly flow develops over much of the country.

On Friday the southwesterly flow strengthens as the low tracks away from the country. The strong southwesterly flow persists through Saturday, but eases slowly on Sunday as a ridge moves onto the country.

Issued by MetService: 12:58pm Wed 28 May
