🚗🌧️ Surface Flooding? Drive to the Conditions! 🌧️🚗

This heavy rain is causing surface flooding across the region.
Remember — even a few centimetres of water can be dangerous so be extra cautious and slow down.

⚠️ Here’s how to stay safe:
🛑 If you see flooding, don’t drive through it – it might be deeper than it looks
🐢 Slow down – wet roads mean longer stopping distances
💡 Turn headlights on so others can see you
🚙 Avoid sudden braking and sharp turns
🗺️ Check Waka Kotahi or your local council’s website for road closures and detours
📱 Let others know your route and expected arrival time

Remember, it's not just about your car — it’s about keeping you and others safe.
